This month's Glamour Magazine was the bargain price of £1 and this month's freebie was the Model.Co blue eye liner. Considering there seems to be a bit of a blue eye make up thing floating around the make up scene at the minute I thought I would give it a go. Here are my first impressions!

THE COLOUR

I'd been looking out for a blue liner, but every one I'd seen seemed to be on the lighter side, and I was looking for something a bit darker - an almost black blue so I wasn't straying too far away from my comfort zone. This is pretty spot on. It's a very dark navy colour, but blends out really easily and softens to a slightly lighter but not too light, blue.

THE CLAIMS

'A creamy smooth pencil for lining, defining and contouring eyes. Formulated to glide on easily and blend beautifully for dramatically defined eyes with a smouldering effect.' The formula of this is definitely creamy. I think this helps it blend out so easily. It definitely lines eyes (it's a liner!) but I'm not sure how it defines, and I definitely don't understand that bit about contouring. It glides and blends beautifully. I would use this for both a night out, and a daytime look, however the more you blend, the lighter and softer it gets, so I wouldn't say it gives an overly smouldering effect.
Overall, the claims are good, if slightly unclear.

THE PRICE AND AVAILABILTY

Having done a bit of looking around online, I discovered the Model.Co website. It seems that this particular product isn't available and has been specifically produced for the July Glamour Edition (I think - I couldn't find it anywhere) so technically the price is £1 - fantastic! Looking around on the website, the same product, in the colour black, and with a built in sharpener retails for £14. It's pretty pricey, and although the product is fantastic, I believe Model.Co is only stocked online, and therefore swatching (a favourite hobby of mine) would be pretty impossible. Not sure I would want to part with £14 if I wasn't certain it would work for me.

THE VERDICT

Put your shoes on, grab some loose change, and head out to you local Glamour Magazine stockist and pick up a copy of this months edition. Quick! Before it's out of stock! It's well worth a try - especially if you are a newbie to the blue eye liner thing and are worried about spending to much to try it out. I'm a fan. First impressions are good!
Anyone have any other blue liner recommendations out there? Any I should try?
