A week in outfits: Lanzarote 2017

Last week I packed up for a week of all inclusive luxury with my parents! It was bliss to just relax and catch some rays and take a break from the midwife life for a little while! Here is my week in outfits sharing my evening glam!

A guide to Lisbon

A couple of weeks ago me and my friend packed our cases and headed off to Lisbon for a couple of days. We'd planned a few things we wanted to do but a load of things just happened by chance and we are so glad they did! Here is a little bit of what we did in Lisbon and a few things we'd recommend!

My 100 Things | #41 Win a Prize on a Slot Machine

Never in my 18 years of existence have I ever won a prize on a slot machine, so when I added this to my list I felt like it was in the hands of the slot machine rather than myself but would give it a go anyway!

When I was down south last month I went to the amusement arcades on the beach front - a UK holiday essential for my family. I remember going so much when I was little and my Grandma always used to empty her loose change from her purse and I would spend it all on the slot machines.

I was tempted to one machine by a five pound note dangling from the end. I have since realised it was probably glued down as it didn't budge but at the time I could have been sure it was moving so kept putting my change in. I swapped £2 into 2p pieces and spent them all. Some also fell out the machine and I kept putting them back in all in an attempt to get the £5 note.

In the process of doing this the keyrings that were on the top of the coins kept working their way forward and one dropped out. I'm counting this as the toy I wanted to get even though they aren't very big they are still a prize - I don't want to push my luck and try for something else. Anyway, in the efforts to try and get the £5 note, I spent so much money I ended up getting three keyrings! (They're The Simpsons and I'm note a massive fan of The Simpsons but who cares, it's still a prize!)

 

So, there they are, my three keyrings - not one but three!

And....another thing ticked of my 100 things list! I'm working through them now so will keep blogging about them!

My 100 Things | #26 Play Crazy Golf

Almost everytime I go on holiday in the UK I've played crazy golf. A recent trip away was no different. The hotel we stayed at had its own little adventure golf course so I challenged my Mum and Dad to a couple of games and won both. We therefore had to have a third game because Dad wasn't happy with losing, so I let him win the third game just to shut him up!

When I first had my stroke my therapists said doing things with both my left and right hand, would help the signals from my brain improve, and therefore my grip, co-ordination and movement would improve as a result - Holding the golf club was great therapy. Also, I'm super competitive so this was so much fun!

Well, that's another thing crossed off my 100 things list and another blog post.

A day out at Southwold Beach

I've not been on holiday with my Mum and Dad for quite a while, and to be honest I wasn't really meant to be going away this time, because I should have been at Uni, but thanks to the Stroke I managed to get myself a free holiday (well, free for me, Dad paid!).

We went to Suffolk for a long weekend and spent a day at Southwold. It's a really cute place, and for October the weather was actually really nice, so it was really busy.

We started off by flying my kite (This is on my '100 things to do this year' list, and I've done a post on it here if you'd like to read it).

We then headed down the walkway towards the pier and had a nosey at all the beach huts...

 

 
Southwold Pier is really pretty, and wasn't like any other I'd seen. It had a little café, some lovely gift shops and a little clock tower that worked because of the water. Here's a couple of pictures:
 

 

After a lot of walking about it was time to head back to the hotel as I was pretty tired, but not before I wasted far to much money on the slot machines and teddy grabber games at the arcade (before you ask, I didn't win a teddy, I never do....)

My 100 things | #12 Fly a Kite on the beach

I haven't done this for years. I had a kite when I was really little and was heartbroken when it broke whilst I was on holiday with my parents. So, my Dad took me to a little shop and I bought a brand new kite. I have so many memories of using this kite when I was younger, but for quite a while now it's been packed away in its box in the garden shed.

I've just been away to Suffolk (South East of England) with my Mum and Dad, so took my kite with me so I could cross off something on my list. (If you have no idea what I'm on about with my list of 100 things to do this year, click here to go to my first blog post where I explain it all!)

We went to Southwold, and I found a tiny quiet patch of sand to fly my kite....here's a couple of pictures:

 

This was a proper throwback to my childhood and one of the simplest things on my list but fun nonetheless.

This has been my first blog post about any of the items on my to do list. Pretty short but hope you enjoyed it.
