Cake! Who doesn't love a good bit of cake! Combine it with chocolate and make it all gooey and you get one of my all time favourites...brownies! I can't remember the last time I made brownies, so I'm pretty pleased with how these turned out and I'm excited to share the recipe with you!
MAKES: 16 BITESIZE PIECES
PREP TIME: 30 MINUTES BAKE TIME: 40 MINUTES
Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas 4
Line a square cake tin with baking paper
Cream together the sugar and butter into a smooth consistency
Add each egg one at a time (don't worry when it looks like it's curdled)
Add the chocolate and fold gently
Add the vanilla extract and baking powder
Sift in the flour and cocoa powder
Fold together gently
Mix together the coffee and water
Add the coffee to the mixture
Mix well (it will be quite runny)
Pour into the cake tin and level
Bake in the oven for 35-40 minutes
Cool and cut into squares
Top with icing sugar if you wish and serve with cream, ice cream or a good cuppa'
