Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Shine Lacquer

My Auntie bought me a few Soap and Glory Products for my Birthday and included was the Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Shine Lacquer in Charm Offensive. Having been a massive fan of the Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick for quite some time I was excited to try another S&G product. I'd also not tried a lip lacquer before, and wasn't sure how I'd get on with it. Anyway, here is what I thought...

THE PACKAGING
____________________________________________________________________________________

It follows the a very similar design to other Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker products. It's a very neat size, that would fit perfectly into a make up bag or into a clutch on a night out. I also like the fact the name of the shade is printed onto a sticker on the base of the packaging. I just think it's a very tidy way of printing it and looks like a lot of effort has been made....I don't know what I'm trying to say, I just like it.

THE COLOUR
____________________________________________________________________________________

There are seven shades, all with pink and red undertones. I have the shade 'charm offensive', it leaves a very high impact glossy shine on the lips. It's very natural, and very flattering for my skin tone - I think this shade in particular would suit most skin tones actually. Oh, and this is the most pigmented lip lacquer I've seen in a long time!

THE APPLICATION
____________________________________________________________________________________

The applicator is a wide sponge tip, yet it is thin and flexible, so this allows you to pack a large amount of product onto the lip at once. This is great if you are looking for a really high impact coverage, but I feel like because of the thickness of the product it drags across the lips on application quite a lot so I prefer to apply the product using both this applicator and a lip brush, to give a more precise thinner coverage.
Also because the applicator also picks up a large amount of product. In my opinion you can wipe all the excess off the applicator, and still end up with a full, opaque coverage, that shows you're wearing a lip lacquer over a lip gloss.

THE CLAIMS
____________________________________________________________________________________

Soap and Glory claim that this lip lacquer is ultra-moisturising and has repairing ingredients. It's super moisturising. Considering it's quite a thick product, it isn't heavy or drying on the lips. I wouldn't say it's necessarily repairing. I wouldn't wear it if I had chapped lips, I'd just stick to a good old fashioned lip balm.

THE LASTING TIME
____________________________________________________________________________________

I'd say the gloss wore off after about 4 hours, but the stain stayed on for a good few hours after that. I did wear it to work one day where I drank my body weight in coffee, and the gloss wore away after only a couple of cups, however the stain did last all day.

THE WEARABILITY
____________________________________________________________________________________

I would say the nude, and pinky toned colours, including charm offensive, would be very easy to wear on a day-to-day basis. However the bright red and aubergine colours, I would say would be best for a night out, or on dressed up day (I mean those days, when you're going out and you're going for that smart casual look, and you aren't really sure how to do your make up or what to wear because let's face it no one really knows what smart casual is - well I feel like it would be perfect then as well!)

THE FINAL VERDICT
____________________________________________________________________________________

I like this product. I wouldn't say I preferred it to my Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick, but that's just a personal preference. I'm still getting used to the application of it, and I think once I've perfected that, I'll wear it more, and more. If you're a fan of lip lacquers, I definitely think that you'll like this one...and if you're new to lip lacquers, give it a try!
You can pick on up for £7 from Boots!
