Fitness Friday: Week Six

There's been a lot of new additions to the whole fitness thing this week. From Yoga with Adriene to fundraising packs, to a new running partner! Keep reading if you fancy knowing a bit more about how my week has been!
As I mentioned in last week's fitness Friday, I'd been thinking of starting the Yoga with Adriene 30 Day Challenge! Well I started, on Friday infact. It's much harder than I thought it would be. I'm known for my inflexibility (can't even do a forward role - I'm not lying) and on day one I'd only been going a couple of minutes but was thinking about fast forwarding to skip some of it. Coincidently as I was thinking that Adriene says 'don't fast forward, just breathe', so I got back in the zone! Days two and three were really difficult, especially day three after I'd ran in the morning, but I do find it very relaxing so I'm going to stick at it and no doubt it will get easier. I've only missed one day so far because I was so tired after a full day of work - I'll keep you posted on how it goes!

Back to the running - Sunday morning I did 1.86 miles without stopping, I honestly felt unstoppable, I only came home because I was desperate for the toilet (note to self for future with that one!) and I could definitely of kept going. It was my fastest 1K on Sunday as well! Wooyeah!

Wednesday morning I ran 2.45 miles, only walking about 100 metres on the second mile. I was super hot, sweaty, red-faced and tired afterwards however it was worth it, got to keep pushing yourself a little more each time.

On Wednesday our fundraising packs arrived as well! We've got a running vest each now and sponsorship forms. I'm not going to wear my vest till race day - keeping it for the special occasion!

Thursday was race day with Bridie and we set ourselves a new route. We ran about 3.5 miles but it involved running up hill and a cross country dash through a field - this was my hayfever's worst nightmare which resulted in an afternoon dash to the chemist! We definitely need to be increasing the distance to that five mile mark within the next week because race day is fast approaching!

Oh, that new running partner - there are three of us doing the race, myself, Bridie and Abi. Abi has been at Uni until recently so we can finally get out running together soon!

That's it for this week! See you next time!
