My 100 Things | #32 See a Musical

I have great memories from when I was a little kid, of going to London, and seeing musicals in the West End, in particular Chitty Chitty Bang Bang - and getting a nose bleed, right at the end when all the children got released, and having to pinch my nose with one hand and still trying to clap along!

Earlier in the year (wait no, last year....it's a new year now) my Mum and Dad booked us some tickets to see Shrek at The Palace Theatre in Manchester....

We went on Friday and had a really good time! It was soooo good, and very funny! It was a fantastic family musical, which really impressed me because I thought it may be quite child orientated, but there were some really sharp bits of humour that only adults would understand, and then there were some really catchy songs, and very interactive parts for the younger children.

I thought it would be mainly families in the audience, but it was a really mixed bunch with everyone from five year olds to elderly couples.

We had a really good time, and although I couldn't take any pictures of the musical, or inside the theatre, I did get one in the foyer, by a giant Shrek sign!

Shrek has finished running at the palace theatre now, and I'm not sure where it is going next, or if it's going anywhere at all, but if you ever get a chance to see it, go...because you'll have a good time whatever age you are!

See you soon :)
