The Collection Lasting Colour Lipsticks

I bought one of these lipsticks a long time ago. It must be about six/seven months ago, and I wore it loads. But then it became victim to the back of the make up drawer and that was that. A couple of weeks ago an email popped into my inbox telling me that the Collection Lipsticks were on 2 for £5. In the same email Superdrug were telling me I needed to use the points on my points card - what store makes you spend your points? Anyway, I wasn't going to waste the small amount of £2 that I had accumulated. It was time for a shopping trip.

THE PIGMENTATION AND STAYING POWER

The sugar plum lipstick darker lipsticks I have are a lot sheerer than the lighter one. The coral/orange colour is more chalky although all have a good pigmentation, and the colour in the bullet it translated well onto the lips. I am a fan of a lip brush when it comes to applying lipsticks however with these I feel the colour does get lost slightly and a lot stays on the brush so I feel it's a lot easier to skip this. They do last well - I wouldn't say they are invincible, as soon as you start to eat and drink they begin to wear away but they last well if you aren't putting your lips up against a Nando's.

THE PACKAGING AND DESIGN
____________________________________________________________________________________

I think that Boots have the black and pink packaging and Superdrug have rights to the silver and pink packaging. I like both. The case seems pretty sturdy and the clasp between the lid and bottom of the casing is tight, it won't drop off in your make up bag (this may not seem a big deal but I've had a messy experience after a lid came loose before)! The lipstick itself has a very sharp, precise bullet, but after a couple of this softens and becomes a lot more rounded.

THE COLOUR RANGE
____________________________________________________________________________________

Having viewed the Boots and Superdrug websites there are a lot of colours available - I'm talking at least 50. However, it seems different shades are available at the different stockists so I would recommend comparing the two stores online, because you may see a colour you prefer at a different stockist. The range has a lot of plum colours, and a lot of pinks and corals. I have three of the Lasting Colour lipsticks - Sugar Plum (plum with a slight shine), Tangerine Dream (light coral with a hint of orange), and China Rose (mauve, pink nude).

THE MOISTURISATION
____________________________________________________________________________________

I wanted to make a particular point about talking about this because for me, the lipsticks come in both matt, and a slight gloss, and I would say that both are very moisturising. You can feel them on your lips, but they feel more like a lip balm, than a sticky product, and they all feel really soft and not tight.

THE PRICE
____________________________________________________________________________________

These lipsticks are £2.99 each and are available from Boots or Superdrug. They aren't pricey and for the money I think you get a very good product. As I started out saying I got these lipsticks on offer, and I'm not sure if that one is still running, however, there are always offers - c'mon it's the drugstore!

THE VERDICT
____________________________________________________________________________________

Pick a couple of these up and you won't regret it. I would say go into store though and swatch them first as a couple of the colours are quite similar. For the price these are really good - I don't have anything similar to the orange/coral, tangerine dream colour I bought, I would really recommend picking one of these products up if you're interested in trying a new colour because the formula gives a really nice look, so you can test out the colour and you haven't spend a fortune!
